Nearly 60 percent of University College-Newark's (UC-N) 500 students are members of underrepresented groups,
and more than half are women. More than one-third of UC-N students are older than the age of
24.
Most of the college's students are candidates for a baccalaureate degree, but some are college
graduates who are pursuing a second bachelor's degree or who plan to go on to graduate
school in a different area of study. Others enroll in selected courses in areas of professional
or personal interest without establishing degree candidacy.
All are exceptional, highly motivated students whose commitment to postsecondary
education is matched only by the School of Arts and Sciences-Newark faculty who teach them.
