Students who wish to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering may participate in the
Pre-Engineering Transfer Program. The application process and timeline for the School of Engineering may be found at: https://www.ugadmissions.rutgers.edu/SchoolToSchool.
Pre-Engineering Transfer
Program
Students admitted to the Newark College of Arts and Sciences may apply for
school-to-school transfer to the School of Engineering. Students interested in
transferring should complete one year of pre-engineering courses at Newark College of Arts and Sciences and must
satisfactorily meet the standards of the School of Engineering in order to be
considered for admission. As is the case with other preprofessional programs,
competition is intense and admission to the School of Engineering is not
guaranteed. Interested students should contact the pre-engineering adviser in
the Office of Academic Services, 312 Hill Hall, Newark Campus at the earliest
opportunity.
For more information on both of the
pre-engineering programs as well as the pre-engineering adviser, please visit: https://sasn.rutgers.edu/student-support/current-students/pre-professional-programs/pre-engineering.Curriculum
Students may pursue one of five tracks of study for engineering majors in the Pre-Engineering
Transfer Program: biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, civil
engineering, electrical and computer engineering, and mechanical engineering.
All majors take the same program of courses during the first year. Students
should consult with the pre-engineering adviser in the Office of Academic
Services for additional information.
