Art and Design
- Students will develop their ability to make critical observations.
- Students will build an informed creative process.
- Students will be exposed to a variety of
media and the study of historical and critical perspectives of the
visual arts.
- Students will acquire technical and conceptual skills that will help them succeed in their careers as artists or designers.
Art History
- Students will gain knowledge of a large set of art objects from a variety cultures and periods, and they will be able to place art in historical, stylistic, and cultural contexts.
- Students will learn how to communicate effectively about art.
- Students will learn how to carry on research in art history effectively.
- Students will be introduced to a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches to art history.
- Students will attain the skills and knowledge to pursue a productive career or further education in art history, or to apply these skills to another career or education in which these skills can be applied.
