Health Sciences: Aging 499J
The bachelor of science in health science (B.S.H.S.) aging track is a degree program offered jointly by the Rutgers University-Newark College of Arts and Sciences (NCAS) and Rutgers School of Health Professions (SHP).
The
goal of the aging track is to prepare students with training in healthy living
and management of disease in older adults; social policies for older adults; and
knowledge, resources, and skills to effectively care for the ever-growing aging
population in our communities and beyond. Students pursuing the B.S.H.S. aging track complete their first two years of study in NCAS, where they complete their core curriculum requirements as well as a minor in psychology or sociology.
Students then apply to transfer to SHP, where they complete their professional training for the major in a fully online program. Course requirements for the major include:
