Communicable Disease Policy

The faculty believe that all professional nurses have a responsibility to provide care to any person regardless of the person's state of health or illness. Consequently, Rutgers College of Nursing students may be assigned to care for patients with HIV/AIDS or other communicable diseases as a part of their learning experience.

Exceptions. Exceptions to this policy are granted only in situations where the health and/or confidentiality of a person is threatened or violated.
