Students may be awarded credits for coursework completed prior to college through the combination of advanced placement examinations,
International Baccalaureate, General Certificate of Education, and proficiency
examinations. Credits earned through these methods are not computed in the
cumulative grade-point average.School

credits are applicable to the engineering major or toward general education requirements.
AP
Credits: Degree credit and placement are
granted for grades of 4 and 5 on the College Board Advanced Placement
Examinations, provided the subject matter is equivalent to those courses
satisfying the engineering curriculum requirements. Each student has the option
of presenting advanced placement results for degree credit or of taking the
equivalent course at Rutgers for degree credit and a grade. Students may not
receive credit for both advanced placement and the equivalent Rutgers course.IB
Exams: The School of Engineering recognizes
the rigor of the International Baccalaureate program and grants college credit
for students who demonstrate strong performance (scores of 7, 6, and 5) on
Higher Level exams. Credit is not given for grades of 4 or lower or for
Subsidiary/Standard Level exams.GCE A-Level: Degree credit is awarded for GCE
Advanced Level examinations in select subjects with sufficient grades. We do
not award credit for Advanced Subsidiary (AS) level or Ordinary (O) level exams
or for grades below D.CLEP: School of Engineering does not accept the
College Level Examination Program (CLEP) for credits.
