The Thomas A. Edison Papers, a research center at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, is dedicated to a wider understanding of the legacy of America's most prolific inventor and innovator. This is accomplished through books, articles, media appearances, internet services, community outreach, educational collaborations, and partnering with the Edison Awards. Especially significant are the selected publications in books and online of the notebooks, correspondence, patent materials, and business and legal records of Edison, his associates, and his companies. The Edison Papers is cosponsored by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, the National Park Service, the New Jersey Historical Commission, and the Smithsonian Institution. The Edison Papers has five full-time faculty members who do research on Edison and also a broad range of historical issues from the 19th and 20th centuries. Graduate and undergraduate students also assist with the center's work.
