Registration is made through a web-based registration system. Instructions will be provided at the time of admission. Once enrolled, students register early for subsequent semesters.
Registration instructions are published at that time. Changes of
registration may be made after early registration.
A student admitted into a degree program of the Graduate School–New
Brunswick is expected to remain registered in every fall and spring semester thereafter until he or she completes the program and earns the
degree. Normally a student registers for courses or research as
appropriate; a student may also register for matriculation continued
for a maximum of two semesters (see the next section).
Students continuing research on a master's thesis should register
for 1 credit of research per semester until the degree is completed, for a
maximum of three semesters.
Any student who fails to maintain
continuous registration may not resume formal graduate study or
register again in the Graduate School–New Brunswick without first
applying through the Office of the Graduate School for
readmission. Students who have been admitted to candidacy for the Ph.D.
degree must apply for restoration of active status and pay a restoral
fee. There is no time limit for the readmission of such students.
