Graduate study in public health has been developed as a joint-degree
between the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and
Rutgers. Faculty members from both institutions, as well as scientists
and administrators from industry, government, and public institutions,
participate in the teaching program.
The Ph.D. degree requires
72 credits. The areas of concentration are environmental and
occupational health, epidemiology, biometrics, health education,
behavioral sciences, and health systems and policy.
To gain
admittance to the courses listed below, Rutgers students must complete
the Graduate Exchange Program Form, which is available from the
registrar's offices at UMDNJ-School of Public Health or from Rutgers.
In addition to these graduate courses, other courses specific to the
candidate's specialty area are offered through various programs at
Rutgers. Contact the Piscataway office of the graduate program in
public health at UMDNJ for a listing of specific courses and other
options in public health.
A master's level program and a
Dr.P.H. degree also are offered in public health through the Edward J.
Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy and UMDNJ-School of
Public Health.
