Performance Organizations and Performance Requirements


Graduate students are expected, as part of their work, to participate in an ensemble performance each semester as recommended by the department. Students take part in such groups as the Rutgers University Orchestra (required of all string players), Rutgers Wind Ensemble, Rutgers Jazz Ensemble, Brass Band, Kirkpatrick Choir, Opera at Rutgers, and Collegium Musicum. There are also opportunities for extensive study of chamber music.
