Facilities


Facilities used by the Department of Music include 50 practice rooms, several large ensemble spaces, a recital hall, Voorhees Chapel, Kirkpatrick Chapel, and numerous teaching studios, classrooms, and offices. The Nicholas Music Center adds an 800-seat concert hall and an electronic studio. The Robert E. Mortensen Hall, which opened in the fall of 2013, is a state-of-the-art facility featuring 22,000 square feet of performing and practice spaces.

The pianos, organs, harpsichords, and fortepiano owned by the school are among the finest available. The Blanche and Irving Laurie Music Library contains approximately 53,000 books and scores and 18,000 recordings.
