Scholarships and Teaching Assistantships

Several scholarships are divided among students. Those who receive scholarships will have the money credited through their financial aid packets. The department grants students an opportunity to teach undergraduate classes. These appointments are based on accomplishments in one's specialty, previous experience, teaching effectiveness, relevant skills, and the needs of the department. Students who are assigned to teach must be enrolled full time in the visual arts master of fine arts degree program. They shall have no more than one grade of incomplete in their coursework while enrolled at Mason Gross School of the Arts, must be in good standing by maintaining a semester grade-point average of 3.0 or better, have satisfactory artistic standing, and meet the responsibilities of the teaching assignment. If these conditions are not fulfilled, the appointment will be rescinded.
