Subject Specialization (15 credits)

At least 15 credits of college-level work must be completed in the subject field that will be your specialization. Any subject fitting into one of the following four areas is appropriate: English/language arts, mathematics, science, or social studies. Middle school specialization in more than one field (i.e., math and social studies) is possible in New Jersey; however the Graduate School of Education is only able to recommend students for one middle school specialization. Upon completion of the program, students may apply to the state for addition certifications if they have the appropriate coursework.
