Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology 2021-2023 About the School Location

Location

New Brunswick, with a population of about 50,000, is located in central New Jersey. With easy access to New York City and Philadelphia, students are able to participate in an exceptionally wide range of research, seminars, and ethnic and cultural activities.

The academic and administrative headquarters of GSAPP is located in two stories of a specially designed wing of the Psychology Building as well as a wing within the Nelson Building. Both buildings are on the Busch campus, approximately five minutes from New Brunswick.

The Center for Psychological Services is partially housed within the Psychology Building. It contains a number of one-way viewing rooms to facilitate training. Faculty and staff offices, a student lounge, and classrooms are also located in the Psychology Building. Other programs within the Center for Psychological Services, as well as the Center for Applied Psychology, are housed in separate research and training buildings five minutes from the Psychology Building.

Busch campus is the site of Rutgers main science complex. The Library of Science and Medicine, the Behavioral Health Care Center, and the computer center are in the immediate vicinity. Courses may also be taken at other graduate and professional schools in New Brunswick, in addition to offerings on both the Newark and Piscataway locations of the medical schools. Other courses are offered in various locations throughout New Jersey and, on occasion, in New York City.
