Students who are obliged to interrupt their studies may, with the approval of their departmental chairperson, register for matriculation continued (leave of absence). There is no tuition fee for this registration although a fee of $75 is charged. This category of registration is available only to students not present on campus and not using faculty time or university research facilities. Those students who are away from campus but working on their dissertations and in contact with their committees register for a minimum of 3 credits per semester.
