Students in the Rutgers School of Nursing-Camden are expected to be responsible for and self-directed in maintaining their health. Because of the strenuous demands of nursing study and practice, affiliate requirements, and the risks of exposure to illness, students are required have a health clearance upon being admitted to the program and prior to beginning any clinical course. To determine clearance, a complete health assessment must be completed through Rutgers University-Camden Student Health Services or through the student's personal health care provider. However, only Rutgers School of Nursing-Camden forms are to be used, and completed forms must be submitted to Rutgers-Camden Student Health Services for clearance. If future assessment is indicated by initial findings, it must be done at appropriate intervals and submitted to Rutgers-Camden Student Health Services. The entire health assessment must be completed prior to the start of the clinical nursing courses. Absolutely no exceptions will be made to this policy.
Please consult the Student Handbook for further details about the student health policy.
