Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Public Affairs, with a Concentration in Community Development
Admission to the doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.) degree program is based on undergraduate (and
graduate, if applicable) transcripts; Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores preferred, but LSAT or GMAT
scores may be accepted (results must not be more than three years old); three letters of recommendation (at least two should be from persons familiar with the applicant's work in an academic setting); a personal statement, including a statement of evidence of an ability to succeed in graduate-level quantitative methods courses; a CV or résumé; and
a writing sample. To make an informed decision, before submitting an application, prospective students should review faculty areas of expertise to ensure a good fit with faculty interests, and to identify a potential dissertation adviser.
The deadline for admission to the doctoral program is January 10.
Master of Science (M.S.) in Public Affairs, with a Concentration in Community Development
The application requirements for the master of science (M.S.) degree program are the same as those for the doctoral program. The deadline for admission to the M.S. program is March 1.
