March 1 is the priority admission deadline for scholarship consideration. However, the master of arts (M.A.) program in criminal justice and the master of arts/master of public administration (M.A./M.P.A.) dual-degree program will accept applications for fall until May 1 and applications for spring admission will be accepted until December 1. More information about admission procedures is available at the Graduate School-Camden website. Students applying to the M.A./M.P.A. program apply to the criminal justice program online and then indicate in the statement of purpose their intention to apply to the dual M.A./M.P.A.

Applicants to the M.A. and the M.A./M.P.A. program must:

1. Complete a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Submit official transcript(s) showing all coursework from undergraduate and graduate schools. The minimum GPA for admission is 3.0.
3. Complete an undergraduate course in statistics and another in research methods. This requirement can be fulfilled after admission. Prior coursework or experience in criminal justice is also recommended.
4. Submit the results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Results must be received directly from the Educational Testing Service. Results of laws school (LSAT) or business (GMAT) exams may be substituted in place of the GRE. The GRE requirement is waived for applicants who received their baccalaureate degree 10 or more years prior to application or who have worked in the field of criminal justice for 10 or more years.
5. Submit three letters of recommendation. Academic recommendations are preferred.
6. Submit a statement of purpose.
7. Submit a brief résumé if one's work experience is relevant to the application.
