Admission Requirements

Admission to the graduate program in computational and integrative biology (GPCIB) requires a bachelor of science degree (or equivalent) in one of the natural sciences, mathematics, computer science, or engineering. Students with a master's degree in one of these areas will also be considered.

Applicants for admission to the program should use the online application website. (Select Biology: Computational and Integrative 56121 as the program. Select either the M.S. or Ph.D. option.) An admissions committee of at least three members of the GPCIB faculty will grant admission on the basis of transcripts of academic grades, GRE scores (General Test required; Subject Test recommended; institution code: 2092), a personal statement, and three letters of recommendation. TOEFL scores are required of all foreign students having English as a second language. If you are unable to apply using the online application site, please post your complete application package to: Graduate Admissions, Graduate Program in Computational and Integrative Biology, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, 406 Penn Street, Camden, NJ 08102 USA.

Complete applications should be received no later than February 15 for fall admission if the applicant wishes to be considered for assistantships, fellowships, or other financial aid. For applicants not requesting financial aid, the application deadline for the fall semester is July 1. International students applying from abroad must submit application materials by March 1 for fall semester admission.

Each student will be interviewed by the admissions committee before a final decision is made.
