Nonmatriculated Status


The program accepts a limited number of students on a nonmatriculated basis.

Applicants to nonmatriculated status must meet the following requirements:

  1. Complete a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
  2. Submit official transcripts showing all coursework from undergraduate and graduate schools.
  3. Complete an undergraduate course in statistics and another in research methods. This requirement can be fulfilled after admission. Prior coursework in criminal justice is recommended.
  4. Submit three letters of recommendation. Academic recommendations are preferred.
  5. Submit a statement of purpose.
Nonmatriculated students are limited to two courses per semester and to a total 12 credits. Advancement to degree status requires approval of the graduate program director and the associate dean of the graduate school and a minimum grade of B in each course.
