Financial Aid

The impact of educational expenses on the student and his or her family is sizable, even though tuition at Rutgers covers only a small portion of the actual cost of instruction for each student. In order to allow students with limited financial resources to attend, every effort is made to assist these students in finding the funds to finance their education.

A majority of full-time graduate students at the university receive some financial aid. The amount of support each student receives depends, in part, upon the availability of funds. The level of support often is dependent upon the specific graduate program and the student's degree status. Limited funds are available to students from scholarships, fellowships, assistantships, grants, low-interest loans, and part-time employment. To apply for grants, loans, and employment, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is available from most college and university financial aid offices and online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. For additional information, applicants should visit the Rutgers Office of Financial Aid on the web at http://studentaid.rutgers.edu, or on the New Brunswick Campus at:
