Grades and Records

Students in the School of Social Work are graded in each course at the end of each semester as follows:

The school does not assign the grades of D or D+ in its courses.

N (Incomplete). When the fieldwork assignment is incomplete, the director of field education may elect to assign a grade of IN.

P/F (Pass/Fail). Fieldwork courses use the nonnumerical grades of pass or fail.

TF (Temporary). TF is used for all incomplete and temporary grades. Temporary grades are given at the discretion of the instructor when the student has not properly completed the coursework requirements due to extenuating circumstances. If a student does not complete the course requirements, the TF grade will change to an F.

W (Withdrawal).Used when a student officially drops a course or withdraws during the first 12 weeks of the semester.
