Health Outcomes, Policy, and Economics Courses

HOPE 9510 Economic Modeling of Pharmaceuticals and Other Health Interventions (2) This course will cover the principles of economic modeling of pharmaceuticals and other health improving interventions. Students will learn how to build a model using established methods, critique published models, consider ethical issues of modeling, and discuss how models are used by health care insurers and policymakers to inform the adoption of new treatments.
HOPE 9511 Capstone Project I (3) All students are required to complete a two-semester, 6-credit Capstone Project (Capstone I and Capstone II). The goal of this project is for the student to demonstrate mastery of the program curriculum through an independent, faculty-supervised research study. Required for M.S.-HOPE degree candidates.
HOPE 9512 Capstone Project II (3) All students are required to complete a two-semester, 6-credit Capstone Project (Capstone I and Capstone II). The goal of this project is for the student to demonstrate mastery of the program curriculum through an independent, faculty-supervised research study. Required for M.S.-HOPE degree candidates.
HOPE 9516 Outcomes Research Operations (1) This course will build skills in outcomes research operations pertaining to IRB requirements, project management, literature evaluation, reference management, and professionalism. Students will be prepared to transition these academic skill sets to independent professional practice. The course is designed to serve as a foundation to the MS-HOPE capstone project.
