Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) Competencies - Urban Health Administration
Each concentration identifies competencies for each degree
offered. These competencies reflect the full range of knowledge, skills, and
other attributes that a student will acquire as a result of completing the
requirements for a particular degree.
Upon graduation, a student completing the M.P.H. curriculum
in urban health administration will be able to:

identify the health status of U.S. populations and their related determinants;

identify the structure and function of health-related systems in U.S. cities;
- demonstrate skills in policy and program planning, development, and evaluation;
- apply leadership skills to create health partnerships and build coalitions to improve public health;

apply leadership and management principles to administer health-related organizations;
-
utilize budgeting, human resource management, and financial management in health-related organizations; and
-
apply quality improvement principles and methods to enhance health outcomes and the performance and productivity of health organizations.
**UPDATE** Please note we are not accepting applications for the M.P.H.
in urban health administration concentration. Interested applicants should
apply to the new M.P.H. in urban public health concentration or another
concentration.
