program for the 2017-2018 academic year as we revise
the Dr.P.H. curriculum. The Ph.D. degree program is accepting
applications.

Applications for admission to Rutgers School of
Public Health are encouraged from qualified college graduates with a baccalaureate degree who desire training in the disciplines of public
health and who have realistic plans for utilizing what they learn. Most
students are admitted in matriculated status in the master of public health (M.P.H.), master of science (M.S.), doctor of pubic health (Dr.P.H.), and doctor of philosophy (Ph.D.)
degree programs.
Applicants are accepted to a specific concentration at one of our locations (Newark or New Brunswick). A smaller number, often those not meeting all of the
admissions criteria, are admitted in nonmatriculated status. These
students normally are permitted to take up to 12 credits of coursework
and, if they achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better,
to matriculate in the M.P.H. program. The school also accepts visiting
students and certificate students for limited amounts of coursework.
Upon receipt of an acceptance letter, students are required to send a
nonrefundable seat deposit to the location that they will be
attending, which is applied to the first tuition bill when the student
registers.
Applications are administered through the Schools of Public
Health Application Service (SOPHAS) except for students in an articulate degree, dual-degree, residency, or fellowship programs, as well as those having
Rutgers faculty status, and students applying to a certificate program. If you fall into any of these
