Full- and Part-Time Students

For statistical, billing, and veteran certification purposes, a full-time undergraduate student is defined as one who is taking, during the fall and spring semesters, 12 or more credits. Half-time is defined as 6 to 11.99 credits, and fewer than 6 credits is defined as less than half time. In summer, a credit load of 6 or more credits is considered full time.

For statistical, billing, and veteran certification purposes, a full-time graduate student is defined as one who is taking 9 or more credits. Those taking less than 9 credits are part-time students. All courses, including those taken not-for-credit, are counted in computing the credits taken, except for VA certification. In Summer Session, a credit load of 4.5 or more credits is considered full time.
