The following five courses (15 credits) are required of all degree candidates:
17:194:510 Communication and Society--with specialized sections for each track:
17:194:511 Organizational Communication
17:194:512 Mediated Communication (digital media students take a specialized section in Media Studies Theory and Practice)
17:194:514 Communication Research--focuses on literacy in reading original research
17:194:519 Capstone--This is a 3-credit faculty-supervised project completed by all M.C.I.S. students in or near the last semester of study. Capstone requires students to integrate what they have learned in the M.C.I.S. program through the completion of a clearly focused case study, literature review, or empirical project. The projects can be of an applied or scholarly nature. All projects are informed with literature and scholarly knowledge gained through the program.
