Qualifying
for Advanced Standing/Transfer Credits
The master of business administration (M.B.A) degree
normally requires a minimum of 60 credits. In rare cases
advanced standing or transfer credits may be awarded to full-time M.B.A.
students. All requests for advanced standing by full-time M.B.A. students must
be made by the end of the first semester of the program. All requests for
transfer credit must be approved prior to beginning graduate work at an outside
institution. See below for more information.
Students may receive up to a maximum of 12 credits of
graduate coursework completed with a B or better if they received such credit as
an M.B.A. degree candidate (and did not complete the degree) at an
AACSB accredited
institution. For undergraduate business
courses, students can earn a maximum of 6 advanced standing credits in the
traditional full-time M.B.A. program. Please note: no credit can be awarded for
any course taken more than five years before the time of initial enrollment in
the Rutgers M.B.A. program.
