The
primary mission of the Graduate Student Government Association (GSGA)
is to ensure that the interests of all graduate students are recognized
and represented. The GSGA has an executive board that includes a
president, vice president, treasurer, secretary, senator, and one
voting representative from each of the graduate programs. The GSGA
works to ensure that funds from student fees are distributed to
participating programs in a way that encourages quality activities,
including conferences, lecturers, scholarship-based programming, and
networking events, and helps to enhance the campus environment for all
students. In addition, the GSGA sponsors an annual reception for the
graduate school after the commencement ceremonies. At this event, it
distributes awards for excellence in academics, teaching, and research.
