Awards and Scholarships


Students in Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate-Newark may compete for the following awards:

Accounting and Information Systems Department Award 

Awarded each year to a graduating student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the study of accounting and has made major contributions to the department.

 

Distinguished Leadership Award

The award recognizes student leaders who demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, service to RBS, and leadership potential.The name of each recipient is engraved onto the Rutgers Business School Bell.

 

Finance Department Award

Awarded each year to the graduating student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the study of finance and made major contributions to the department.

 

James Bicksler Leadership Award

This award is given by former professor James Bicksler to a student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement, as well as proving leadership in advancing other students.

 

John R.H. Gilmour Public Accounting Award

This award, named for a long-time faculty member and first director of the undergraduate accounting program, is given to the most promising graduating student who has chosen a career in professional accounting.

 

Louis Gluck Memorial Award in Management

This award, named in memory of and endowed by the late Louis Gluck, is given each year to a graduating undergraduate student who demonstrates outstanding scholarship and service to the school.

 

Management and Global Business Department Award

Awarded each year to the graduating student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the study of management and made major contributions to the department.

 

Marketing Department Award  

Awarded each year to the graduating student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the study of marketing and made major contributions to the department.

 

Dr. Rosa Oppenheim Leadership Award

This award honors executive vice dean Dr. Rosa Oppenheim's extraordinary commitment to Rutgers Business School and the leadership she has exhibited throughout her career, including two stints as interim dean. This award recognizes a student who has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to positive leadership.

 

Lee Papayanopoulos Memorial Award  

This award is given in memory of the late professor Lee Papayanopoulos, chair of the Department of Management Science and Information Systems, whose service to Rutgers and the academic community was distinguished by an unwavering commitment to excellence. The Lee Papayanopoulos Memorial Award recognizes an undergraduate student with a major or concentration in management information systems who exemplifies excellence in academic and extracurricular activities.

 

Ronald Armstrong Memorial Award  

This award is given in memory of the late professor Ronald Armstrong, chair of the Department of Management Science and Information Systems, whose service to Rutgers and the academic community was distinguished by an unwavering commitment to excellence. The Ronald Armstrong Memorial Award recognizes an undergraduate student with a major or concentration in management information systems who exemplifies excellence in academic and extracurricular activities.

 

Rutgers Business School Alumni Association Prize, Newark Undergraduate

This prize is given each year to a member of the Rutgers Business School Undergraduate-Newark program who has shown the greatest achievement in both scholastic and extracurricular services.

 

Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate-Newark Dean's Award

This award is given by the dean of Rutgers Business School to the Undergraduate-Newark student who is judged to demonstrate the most outstanding overall excellence.

 

Supply Chain Management Department Award

Awarded each year to the graduating student who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in the study of supply chain and made major contributions to the department.

 

Thomas York Memorial Award

This award is in memory of professor Thomas York, a devoted professor of supply chain management and friend and mentor to his students. It is given to a graduating supply chain management major who exemplifies a commitment to sharing his or her expertise in supply chain management through academic achievement and leadership in student organizations and activities designed to promote excellence in the field.

 

Zachary Stoumbos Memorial Award  

This award is given in memory of the late professor Zachary Stoumbos, chair of the Department of Management Science and Information Systems, whose service to Rutgers and the academic community was distinguished by an unwavering commitment to excellence. The Zachary Stoumbos Memorial Award recognizes an undergraduate student with a major or concentration in management information systems who exemplifies excellence in academic and extracurricular activities.


Rutgers Business School offers several scholarships to students enrolled in Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate-Newark program. 

To be eligible for any of the scholarships below:

  • you must have filed a FAFSA application;
  • you must have a Rutgers GPA of at least 3.2 or better;
  • you must be a full-time student (12 credits or more); and
  • you must fill out a scholarship application.

Supply Chain Management Scholarships

Council of Supply Chain Management (CSCMP)

This professional organization offers annual scholarships to SCM students. In the last two years, Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) in New Jersey has awarded over 14 scholarships worth over $10,000 to Rutgers Business School supply chain management students and four of those students have attended the National CSCMP meetings, all travel expenses paid by CSCMP. Watch for announcements for the application process during the spring semester, typically in March.

Institute for Supply Management (ISM) Scholarships

This professional organization offers annual scholarships to SCM students. The number of scholarships varies from year to year, typically from two-four are offered annually. In addition to the scholarships, the Services Group provides financial assistance for students and an academic adviser to attend the annual ISM conference by subsidizing conference fees and portions of travel expenses. ISM also provides annual membership to the organization to full-time students and waives the membership fee.

New Jersey CSCM Student Award (NJ Industry Award)

The CSCMP-NJ Roundtable offers scholarships each year to Rutgers Business School's undergraduate, M.B.A., and Ph.D. students concentrating in supply chain management.

R. Gene Richter Scholarship

The following is an announcement from the most recent scholarship, but this typically is an annual scholarship: The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) is pleased to work with the R. Gene and Nancy D. Richter Foundation in the promotion of the R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program. The R. Gene and Nancy D. Richter Foundation in partnership with the ISM R. Gene Richter Scholarship Fund will provide scholarships of up to $5,000 U.S. dollars to individuals seeking education in the area of supply management or supply chain management. Eligible students will be in their senior year. Students must be enrolled full time in an accredited supply management program with the intention of specializing in the supply management profession. Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on outstanding academic achievement, high ethical standards, and potential to become a future leader in the supply management field. R. Supply Chain Leadership Award

The Center for Supply Chain Management honors students who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and dedication to supply chain management during their academic careers. Recipients are selected based on academic merit, contribution to the Rutgers supply chain management program, and the recommendation of faculty members.
