Admission to the business majors in the Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–Newark (RBS) is based on academic criteria as well as on work or related experience, evidence of leadership, and demonstrated accomplishment. The faculty seeks to attract a highly motivated and diverse student body in accordance with the policies and procedures established by the Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–Newark and by university regulations. In general, students already matriculated in the liberal arts colleges in Newark receive priority consideration for admission.
RBS is a four-year undergraduate school. First-year and transfer students may be accepted into RBS directly with indication of a business major on their initial Rutgers–Newark application. RBS students are jointly enrolled in both the Newark College of Arts and Sciences and Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–Newark. Current Rutgers–Newark nonbusiness students may apply to RBS after earning a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.50. Students within Rutgers–Newark must use the online School-to-School Transfer Application. Students must be accepted into RBS prior to earning more than 56 credits.
Students from Rutgers–New Brunswick or Camden should use the online School-to-School Transfer Application.
Those applying from outside Rutgers as first-year or transfer students should apply online through the Office of Admissions at http://admissions.rutgers.edu, indicating a major within the Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–Newark.
Students transferring from other schools should consult with admissions counselors to learn if any articulation agreements are in place to define which courses at the school from which they are transferring are acceptable for meeting admission requirements. Please note the information on NJ Transfer. In addition, business courses taken at RBS or any other institution more than seven years prior to a student's enrollment into RBS will not be accepted.
