Newark College of Arts and Sciences and University College–Newark
The Rutgers–Newark Campus has two undergraduate liberal arts colleges: Newark College of Arts and Sciences (NCAS), home to the Honors College, and University College–Newark (UC-N). Together they enroll 4,300 students and offer majors in more than 45 fields of study.
NCAS serves the traditional college student who attends classes during the day, while UC-N is geared toward adult students who work during the day and attend college part time, evenings, or on weekends. Both NCAS and UC-N offer the best of the undergraduate liberal arts tradition and provide excellence in preprofessional studies in such areas as medicine, law, business, and other disciplines. Rutgers–Newark is able to offer students the benefits of small classes and the opportunity to work with faculty members on an individual basis.
College of Nursing
The College of Nursing educates women and men for entry into the profession of nursing at the baccalaureate degree level. The college also provides education for the registered nurse and second degree student seeking a baccalaureate degree in nursing. The nursing program is offered in Newark, New Brunswick, and Freehold (at the Western Monmouth Higher Education Center) with a curriculum that includes liberal arts, sciences, and the humanities, as well as the nursing major, which focuses on optimization of health through health promotion, risk reduction, illness and symptom management, and leadership and management skills within the profession. The curriculum is designed to promote intellectual curiosity, human compassion, and dedication to nursing practice. Students' clinical experiences are supervised by faculty and integrated with coursework.
As the largest provider of professional nurses in the state of New Jersey, the College of Nursing has a distinguished record of education since 1942.
Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–Newark
The Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate–Newark is a four-year, undergraduate school that offers programs in accounting, finance, management, and marketing. All programs are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. The business school faculty also provides management education at the Rutgers Business School: Graduate Programs-Newark and New Brunswick. Students benefit from the depth and breadth of knowledge held by faculty responsible for business education from the bachelor's degree to the doctoral level. Graduates gain an in-depth understanding of their area of concentration within the management curriculum; acquire knowledge of uses and applications of computers; learn to work in team settings to analyze and address complex management problems; think critically and bring innovative approaches to problem solving; and gain an appreciation for international aspects of business. Coupled with their professional education, students receive a solid grounding in the liberal arts.

School of Public Affairs and Administration
Serving its missions of competence, diversity, knowledge, and service, the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) applies a performance management approach to efficient, effective, equitable, and accountable public policy implementation. SPAA carries out these missions by offering academic education programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels for those who seek to educate, lead, or manage in the over 87,000 governmental units at U.S. federal, state, and local levels and the hundreds of thousands of philanthropic, advocacy, and contract organizations engaged in implementing public policies.
School of Criminal Justice
Students pursuing undergraduate degrees at Rutgers University can benefit from the expertise and opportunities for hands-on research and learning afforded to them through the Rutgers School of Criminal Justice. Students are prepared for further study in graduate or professional schools, or for careers in criminal justice. The School of Criminal Justice also offers accelerated programs that combine an undergraduate liberal arts education with professional study. Students from Rutgers and several other colleges and universities can participate in this program, focusing on their undergraduate studies during the first three years and spending the remainder of their time focusing on graduate studies.
