Minor Requirements



Students who are not enrolled in a Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate-Newark major but who wish to minor in accounting or business administration must apply through an internal application and meet the following criteria:

1. a 2.5 grade-point average

2. completed 56 degree credits

3. prerequisites for courses they take

4. completed College Algebra and English Composition I and II


If you are a Rutgers Business School student, you are not eligible to minor in accounting or business administration.    

 

The accounting minor requirements are:

  29:010:203  Introduction to Financial Accounting (3) 

  29:010:204  Introduction to Managerial Accounting (3)

  29:010:304  Cost and Quality Management (3)

  29:010:305  Intermediate Accounting I (3)

  29:010:306  Intermediate Accounting II (3)* 

  29:010:413  Federal Income Tax I: Fundamentals of Federal Income Taxation (3)*


The business administration minor requirements are:

  29:010:203  Introduction to Financial Accounting (3)         

  29:010:204  Introduction to Managerial Accounting (3)

  29:220:102  Introduction to Economics, Macro (3)

  29:220:231  Statistical Methods (3)

  29:390:329  Finance (3)

  29:620:300  Principles of Management (3)

  29:630:301  Introduction to Marketing (3)


Plus at least one of the following courses:

  29:220:101  Introduction to Economics, Micro (3)

  29:623:220  Management Information Systems (3)


*May be substituted by other accounting courses with the consent of the department chair.
