1. 24 credits in Portuguese language, literature, and culture, which must include 21&62: 810:131,132 Intermediate Portuguese (or equivalent preparation as demonstrated by proficiency examination). Any of the Portuguese and Lusophone World Studies (PLWS) courses numbered 200 or higher may be taken to satisfy this requirement.
2. 6 credits in the PLWS core classes, 21&62:810:342,343 Portuguese and Lusophone World Civilization and Culture.
3. 6 credits in other courses within the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures or those from appropriate Newark College of Arts and Sciences departments, subject to the approval of the PLWS program. The following are some examples of acceptable courses:
