The school nurse certificate program is for a baccalaureate-prepared school nurse to obtain certification in the state of

Program Requirement
Current license as a registered professional
nurse in New Jersey and baccalaureate degree from an accredited or
approved institution.
General Education (45 credits)
Forty-five credits in the general education area including at least four of the following:
English
Mathematics
Social Sciences
Natural sciences
Humanities (foreign language, fine and practical arts, philosophy)
Foundational Courses (14 credits)
Equivalent courses earned while obtaining licensure as a registered
professional nurse with a BS/BA or BSN degree can be applied to
these course requirements:

A minimum of 12 credits must be taken at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, College
of Nursing
to obtain this certificate; otherwise there is no limit on transferred credits for certification purposes.
Student Teaching
Student teaching will take place in 25:705:481 School Health Nursing Practicum. The practicum will consist of 150 hours that can be done in one or two terms.
