The College of Nursing Educational
Opportunity Fund Program Learning Center is located on the second floor
of Conklin Hall. The center is designed primarily to meet the needs of
the college's EOF population. However, the center is capable of serving
all College of Nursing students who are underprepared in the basic
skills of writing, math, science, reading, and test taking. Academic
support also is available to students who are enrolled in
upper-division nursing courses. Non-EOF students must be referred
by the Associate Dean for Student Affairs or the associate dean for the
baccalaureate program. There are a myriad of support services
provided through the EOF Learning Center, including a developmental
specialist, peer counselors, peer tutors, professional counselors, and
a computer laboratory specialist. The center also offers
specialized support courses to students enrolled in required sciences
and specific nursing courses. In addition to individual and group
tutorial services, students receive assistance in setting up study
groups, time management, task management, and review sessions. A
full-service computer laboratory is also available for student use.
