All full-time students, by paying the student fee, and those part-time students and University College-Newark students who elect to pay the student health service and insurance fee, are insured for a maximum of $5,000 in medical expenses, brought about by illness or injury. This policy provides excess coverage over any other insurance plans. Students have the option to purchase a major medical policy sponsored by the university that provides more extensive coverage. Students may also purchase coverage for their spouse, sole domestic partner, and/or children at additional cost. Any student not covered by individual or family policies should consider this coverage.
