Applying to the Law School

Inquiries regarding admission to the law school and requests for applications can be sent via email to lawinfo@andromeda.rutgers.edu or through the website, www.law.newark.rutgers.edu. Applications also can be requested through the admissions information hotline, 973-353-5557, or by writing to the Office of Admissions, Rutgers School of Law-Newark, Center for Law and Justice, 123 Washington Street, Newark, NJ 07102.

Application forms and information are available on the law school website, www.law.newark.rutgers.edu, or through the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) (www.lsac.org) online electronic application service. Candidates using the law school website must print out the application and mail it directly to the admissions office. Applications prepared electronically via LSAC will be sent directly to the law school from LSAC electronically and in printed form. Applicants choosing this option are required to print out the certification letter found at the end of the application, sign it, and return it with the $60 nonrefundable application fee in the form of a check, money order, or completed credit card payment form, to the Office of Admissions, Rutgers School of Law-Newark, 123 Washington Street, Newark, NJ 07102.

Detailed instructions for applicants are included in the information packet. All applicants are required to take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and utilize the Law School Data Assembly Service (LSDAS) for undergraduate transcript evaluation and submission of letters of recommendation. The application deadline is March 15.
