The Master of Business & Science degree (MBS) combines a traditional STEM Master of Science (MS) degree with business courses, experiential learning, and networking opportunities. This combination prepares students with the necessary skills to excel in STEM-focused industry and business careers. Students select a science concentration that guides the scientific portion of the degree. Concentrations come from the realm of life sciences, information technology, and engineering disciplines. Science coursework comes from students' concentration.
- Business coursework comes from a core set of classes that is common to all MBS students, regardless of concentration (13 credits) plus electives (6 credits). Core business classes include:

In lieu of a thesis, MBS students complete a team-based capstone project where they develop a business plan around a technology form within their selected concentration. The capstone project is the focus of 16:137:600 Science and Technology Management Capstone.
