The post-master's D.N.P. program, which offers both a clinical and a leadership focus, is for applicants who have already achieved a graduate-level advanced practice foundation.
The post-master's D.N.P. curriculum builds on master's level courses such as
advanced pathophysiology, advanced health assessment, pharmacology, and a
clinical area of concentration. The program has three components:
- coursework to provide a broad understanding of the knowledge and skills needed for the role of a D.N.P.;
- a project that allows students to apply their
coursework, knowledge, skills, and past experience to an in-depth and
integrative practice experience which results in a written product; and
- a minimum of 500 hours in a setting approved for the project.
Both focuses are offered in a blended
format: a combination of online and face-to-face learning experiences.
During the project, students work with experts in their area of focus to gain meaningful clinical and leadership experiences
and to develop and implement their project.
