Degrees are conferred by the
university upon recommendation of the School of Nursing faculty. Diplomas are issued
only at the annual commencement each May. The School of Nursing's deadline for
filing for a diploma is in February for the May commencement. Students
who fail to submit the online diploma application by the deadline will need to
apply for the October graduation, which prohibits them from participating
in any commencement/convocation ceremonies in May. May graduates who do not attend
the commencement should contact the Registrar's Office to make
arrangements to pick up their diploma or have it mailed.
Students who complete degree
requirements during the fall semester will be considered January
graduates. Students who complete degree
requirements during the summer are considered October graduates. October and January graduates are invited to
participate in the annual commencement in May, however students can request to have their diploma mailed to
them or they can make arrangements with the Registrar's Office to pick up the
diploma. They usually receive/pick up
their diploma about two months after their degree is posted.
