Minor in Science Learning

This program is intended to allow students to explore courses and careers in education, including environmental/outdoor education and agricultural/extension education, and may be particularly helpful for those students who seek careers that rely heavily on communication, informal education, citizen science, etc. This minor is also ideal for students who are interested in becoming a certified teacher but do NOT intend on enrolling in the Graduate School of Education here at Rutgers. For example, you may be interested in becoming a certified Physical Education teacher. If you are interested in a Rutgers Certification program in Life Science, please visit here: http://gse.rutgers.edu/academic-programs/certificate-and-endorsement-programs. We can also help set you up for the postbaccalaureate master of science certification program. We have special options for Environment, Policy, Institutions and Behavior; Environmental Sciences (Environmental Education and Environmental Consulting); Exercise Science; and Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources.  Talk to your program adviser about these options.

The certificate is administered through the Program in Science Learning in the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences. For further information, contact Rebecca Jordan, 104 Waller Hall, 848-932-9164 (rcjordan@rci.rutgers.edu)
