Exercise science majors will demonstrate mastery of concepts
crucial to an understanding of basic human anatomy and physiology. After two
years of basic math and science (biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, and
statistics), upper-level students study human physiology as it relates to
exercise and physical activity via such courses as system physiology, exercise
physiology, kinesiology, motor learning, exercise and aging, administration,
biomechanics, and movement for special populations. Upon completion of the
major, students will be qualified for further specialized graduate study or
direct entrance into a related career. Opportunities include pre-athletic
training, biomechanics, fitness management, medicine, physical therapy,
occupational therapy, rehabilitation, and fitness.
