33:799:300 Global Procurement and Sourcing Strategies (3) Focuses on the fundamental tools, techniques, sourcing strategies, and processes used by world-class firms. Case studies are introduced to connect the course materials to the practices. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 and junior or senior status.
33:799:301 Introduction to Supply Chain Management (3) A broad overview of business logistics processes and strategies. Topics include revenue management and pricing, logistics and distribution strategies, warehousing and order fulfillment, supply chain design and integration, supply chain software--MRP/ERP systems, procurement and outsourcing, and project management. Prerequisite: Sophomore, junior, or senior status.
33:799:310 Demand Planning and Fulfillment (3) Focuses on planning strategies and tools commonly used in business practices. Topics include demand forecasting, sales and operations planning (S&OP), inventory management, material requirement planning (MRP), and revenue management and pricing strategies. Prerequisites: 33:799:301. Junior or senior status.
33:799:320 Fundamentals of Supply Chain Solutions with SAP (3) Provides a foundation for understanding the process integration of businesswide functions supported by ERP systems, examines the benefits of implementing ERP, investigates the guidelines for ERP system implementation and application. Introduces SAP ECC 6.0 to illustrate the basic concepts, capabilities, and advantages of ERP. Prerequisites: 33:799:301. Junior or senior status.
33:799:330 Business Logistics and Transportation (3) An introduction to the fundamentals of logistics and transportation. Examines the design of channels of distribution, management of inventory, evaluation of transportation alternatives, information flow, facility location, outsourcing logistics operations through third-party relationships, and the rapidly expanding field of logistics information technology. Explores the principles of transportation with emphasis on transportation modal and intermodal operations (rail, highway, air, water, and pipeline transportation) and transportation management. Prerequisites: 33:799:301. Junior or senior status.
33:799:380 Introduction to Project Management (3) Introduction to the classical foundations of project management. Explores modern real-life project problems and key concepts of initiating, planning, organizing, controlling, and running a project, with particular emphasis on projects in the area of supply chain management. Extensive use of case studies.    Prerequisites: 33:799:301 and junior or senior status.
33:799:410 Service Management (3) Introduction to both the operational and marketing perspectives of service management. Explores the nature of services in the real business world. Covers key concepts of designing, managing, and supporting a service enterprise. Case studies and field trips are involved.   Prerequisites: 33:799:301 and 33:630:301. Junior or senior status.
33:799:420 SCMS Industry Client Projects (3) Gives a thorough understanding, firsthand knowledge, and working experience of industry supply chain management projects through team projects with real-life industry client contacts. Course is supplemented with guest lectures by distinguished executives and faculty on recent best practices and new challenges in the supply chain management field
Prerequisites: 33:799:380. Junior or senior status.
33:799:421 Co-op in Supply Chain Management (3) Provides the opportunity to apply concepts learned in class to the work environment.
Prerequisite: Open to supply chain and marketing science juniors and seniors by permission of the department.
33:799:430 Supply Security and Risk Management (3) Provides a broad overview of key supply chain security areas and issues in the context of homeland security. Explores the need to protect the supply chain and maintain business continuity in the wake of high-consequence, disruptive events.   Prerequisites: 33:799:301. Junior or senior status.
33:799:440 Supply Chain Environmental Management and Green Purchasing (3) After building a comprehensive knowledge of green supply chain and purchasing techniques, this course will allow students to participate in several applied research projects. Projects will include designing green supply chain and procurement systems and products, integrated with economic, environmental, social, and ethical considerations and corporate reporting. Prerequisite: 33:799:301.
33:799:460 Introduction to Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing (3) Provides fundamentals of six sigma, lean manufacturing, and tools and strategies to improve the performance of business processes. Case studies, team exercises, and simulations are utilized. Topics include six sigma improvement methodology and tools, lean thinking tools and approaches, process mapping, dashboards, and other business improvement techniques. Emphasis is placed on the strategic importance of business improvement, the need for fact-based management, and how to deploy these tools in different parts of the value chain.
Prerequisites: 33:799:301. Junior or senior status.
33:799:470 Business Intelligence for Supply Chains and Marketing (3) An overview of business intelligence in the field of supply chain management and marketing. Addresses how to leverage business intelligence systems to define KPIs, sharpen the accuracy of forecasting and planning, track business activities, and deliver dashboards, scorecards, strategic reporting, and operational/real-time reporting to enhance decision making for supply chain and marketing. SAP business intelligence solution is introduced to illustrate the concepts. Prerequisite: 33:799:301.
33:799:490,491 Special Topics in Supply Chain Management (3,3) Considers topics of current relevance in supply chain management.
Prerequisites: 33:799:301. Junior or senior status.
33:799:493 Internship in Supply Chain Management (3) Supervised involvement in a private, public, or nonprofit organization providing the student with an opportunity to apply concepts learned in a class to the work environment. 
Prerequisite: Open to supply chain and marketing science juniors and seniors by permission of the department.
33:799:495,496 Honors Program SCMS (3,3) Independent research and preparation of a written thesis under direction of a faculty member. Prerequisite: Open to supply chain management and marketing science seniors in honors program only.  Both semesters must be completed to receive credit.
33:799:498,499 Independent Study in SCMS (BA) Individual research and/or reading program under the guidance of a member of the department. Prerequisites: 33:799:301 and permission of the department. Open only to supply chain management and marketing science majors with junior or senior status.
