The Board of Governors of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, has established a list of offenses that may result in separation from the university. These offenses are handled through the University Code of Student Conduct. (See the
University Policies and Procedures chapter.) A university hearing procedure is available for use in instances where charges against a student are not of sufficient gravity to lead to separation from the university. The hearing procedure is published in the Student Guide publication distributed to all Rutgers University–New Brunswick students. Lists of the separation and nonseparation offenses and details on the hearing procedures also are available in the Office of Student Conduct and online at http://studentconduct.rutgers.edu.
