Academic Advising

Students must assume responsibility for fulfilling the degree requirements for their business major and liberal arts core curriculum requirements and for taking specific courses required in the appropriate semester for the chosen major. Students must also ensure that they have the proper prerequisites for any course for which they register and are encouraged to seek academic counseling at least once a semester. Student counselors are available to assist students in planning their schedules and to answer any questions they may have about their academic programs and the requirements for the different business majors. Students should also seek the advice of faculty in their major discipline for more specific questions about their majors and courses in their major field of study.

Students should also consult the Degree Navigator system (http://nbdn.rutgers.edu) throughout their course of study atthe Rutgers Business School: Undergraduate-New Brunswick. This program provides useful information for monitoring progress in the major and liberal arts core curriculum requirements. Degree Navigator should be used in conjunction with consultation with an academic adviser and is not meant to serve as a replacement for academic advising.
