A minor in Latino and Hispanic Caribbean studies requires successful completion of six 3-credit courses. The following courses are required as the core curriculum for the minor:
01:595:100 Introduction to Caribbean Studies (3)
01:595:101 Introduction to Latino Studies (3)
01:386:204 History of the Caribbean to 1898 (3) or
01:595:205 History of the Caribbean since 1898 (3)
01:595:298 Latinos and Migration (3) or
01:595:299 Latinos and Community (3)
In addition, students in the minor must take two courses at the 300 or 400 level. None of the courses in the minor may be substituted by courses outside the department. Only one independent study course can be counted toward the minor. Only grades of C or better will count toward the minor requirements.
