Human Resource Management
Human resource management has become recognized as a critical function in work organizations over the last 20 years. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2009), the human resource field is projected to grow significantly in the next decade, making this occupation an attractive source of future employment opportunities. While many of the tasks associated with human resource management are centered in the human resources (HR) department, all managers have HR responsibilities. The human resource management (HRM) undergraduate programs offered through the School of Management and Labor Relations cover a broad range of topics associated with HR management from the perspective of the HR professional, the manager, and the employee. Our programs serve to prepare students interested in a career in human resource management or hope to become managers or team leaders during their careers with some of the issues they will have to deal with, such as staffing, motivating, and developing team members.
