Thesis Option
Students who have completed 15 credits toward the major, have senior standing, a 3.4 grade-point average in the major, and a 3.0 grade-point average overall are eligible to elect the honors thesis option. These independent research projects, carried out in the senior year under the supervision of program faculty, carry 6 credits. The honors program for criminal justice majors may be undertaken in conjunction with a Paul Robeson, Mabel Smith Douglass, Henry Rutgers honors thesis, or School of Arts and Sciences honors thesis.
Departmental Honors
Honors - Students in the major who earn a 3.6 GPA in departmental coursework (01:202 courses, required research methods course, and thematic courses) will graduate with honors.
Highest Honors - Students in the major who earn a 3.8 GPA in departmental coursework (01:202 courses, required research methods course, and thematic courses) will graduate with highest honors.
