The requirements for the master of philosophy degree include a minimum of 48 credits of work, of which at least 42 credits must consist of coursework. The remainder, with the approval of the student's program, may consist of research associated with a master of arts or master of science thesis. At least 33 credits of the course requirements must be fulfilled in graduate-level courses numbered in the 500s and 600s, and of these at least 24 credits must be earned in courses taken at the university.
